‘There’s no such thing as writer’s block. That was invented by people in California who couldn’t write.” – Terry Pratchett

Theme: train timetable; Stanzas: 3; 5; 16+;
David says: incorporate the word “superhero”; last word/concept: “crowsfeet”
Shannon writes
Its five after 10
I was supposed to arrive twenty to 5
I have nothing but clean dishes to offer
Excuses are for children
Which I was, once
One of those;
My shoelaces
Double tied
I’ll pay money or
run to make up for it
Heels, be damned
Next time I’ll pack
My kickers. I will run, gallop,
Sprint – no, fly –
Across the station jet-packed
A superhero(ine)
My name Twiggy of the Galaxy
Capable of roping trains
Like buffalo
Open plains
My hair
Golden chaff
A prairie wind
Tanned
And Child’s crinkled laughter
With no sign
Of crowsfeet anywhere
Near my eyes.
